Clash of the UPAA Iron Grill Chefs!   

Featuring..... a Barbecue Cooking Contest at Kapihan August 29, 2009, Saturday - 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the Picnic Area A (Picnic Shelter), RK McMillan Park ( part of the huge Lakefront Promenade Park complex) ---- end of Hampton Crescent, off Lakeshore RD E/east of Cawthra Rd., Mississauga.

$15 per person. Children aged 10 and below are free. Family and friends are welcome at the same reasonable price. Buffet lunch and merienda, plus beverages are served. Plus barbecue of all kinds by the UPAA Iron Grill Chefs!

Barbecue cooking participants will enter a minimum of 10 lbs of barbecue meats ( choice of beef, pork, chicken, mutton, fish) in their secret ingredients, ready to grill. Barbecue grills are provided by the Committee. Members will be served barbecue at lunch, and each receive a secret ballot to vote for their favourite barbecue chef.

2009 UPAA Champion Iron Grill Chef - will win a framed one-of-a-kind on the spot portrait sketch from our very own famed artist Romi MananQuil ( valued at least $500).

2009 UPAA Master Iron Grill Chef - will win a framed one-of-a-kind on the spot portrait sketch from our very own fast rising artist Omel Masalunga ( valued at least $300).

For the first time, the Philippine Artists Group will do Plein Air paintings with us to watch and appreciate. Later the artworks will be made available for us at special reduced prices. Part of the proceeds will be donated again to the UPAA fundraising.
